Fashion: Daddy's Back Baby!

Guess whose back? Back again. Daddy’s back, tell a friend!

Guys it’s been 18 months since I last posted where you saw me sporting some sweet crocs and I was only a couple of weeks away from becoming a father. And wow hasn’t a lot happened since (slight understatement) for all of us and for all mankind.

With the arrival of our beautiful son Mars, I put the blog to one side to take on the best job I’ll ever have; being a dadda. Alex and I had Mars at home 4 weeks into the first lockdown mid April 2020 and you can probably imagine how strange and isolating that was. The whole birth story in itself is remarkable, but I’ll save that for another time perhaps. The silver lining in all of it though was that I got to be at home with my family for a greater period of time than the usual 2 weeks of paid parental leave which just zooms by. So for that I will be forever thankful for.

As we’ve just hit a new milestone as a nation after 100 days in lockdown and summer has officially arrived, I thought it was about time to get together with a couple of friends and get some fresh content up to welcome in the new season.

You may recognise these iconic backdrops from the seaside village of Devonport where I grew up and where my brother runs a local favourite, the Cheltenham Milk Bar. A few Sundays ago, Annupam, Vlad and myself set off to capture a bunch of fresh summer looks - the brief; simple constructs but refined and smart styles.

All the shirts I’m wearing are made to measure from my friends at Nicholas Jermyn. And honestly they do not disappoint. They’ve got a fantastic range of shirt fits (I’m wearing slim cut) as well as a wide variety of fabrics and patterns to tickle ya fancy. The quality is excellent and it’s all very affordable when it comes to custom made shirting. Definitely worth giving NJ a look up and getting some fresh shirts to elevate your summer wardrobe.

Alex, Mars, Kouta and myself are hosting a small Christmas lunch at our new home this year and we’re calling it The Italian Long Lunch. You can probably see this Italian sense of style and elegance inspired by my outfit selections. Earthy tones and colour platte, linen shirts and pants to keep it light and classic italian leather loafers. Brilliant.

A huge shout out to my crew, starting with Annupam behind the camera who has the tough job of trying to make me look good when in fact I’m a constant mess infront of the camera. Thank you buddy, you’re a wizard. Then there’s my man, Vlad Tichen who operates his own personal stying business doing his thing on me. Not only did he have to constantly battle the rogue hairdo and win with a can of hairspray which basically made my hair feel like cement. Vlad also had to remind me to ‘suck it in’ and I’ve always appreciated his honesty.

It’s not hard to turn up the heat with your summer style. Let me know how you get on and remember to wear sunblock.
