Wearing: Issey Miyake, the perfect fragrance for Summer

Issey Miyake Leau dissey pour homme fragrance worn by Jaheb Barnett

A great fragrance can make the man. Just ask any chicky babe.

It can be a nightmare trying to figure out which fragrance is best for you. You pop into places like Smith & Caughey's and you're bombarded with a million different options from every designer under the sun and then some. Don't even get me started about doing the same at duty-free while you're holding on to three bottles of booze at 6am. You try your best to sample a few fragrances but after you've sprayed more than two, you're screwed. Your nose is overwhelmed, it has been tainted with so many flavours. From that point on it's a challenge to make a call on which fragrance is right for you.

To be honest I'd never picked up a bottle of Issey Miyake until my girlfriend and I were in roaming duty free in Cancun, Mexico and Alex said she thought I'd like it as a light Summer fragrance that would work subtly to create a niceness around you. The L'eau D'issey Pour Homme number isn't brutal or too overbearing. It's a fragrance you can wear day in and day out, and is very subtle in nature unlike your uncle's cologne which tries and fails to cover the stench of cigars. Ironically, this Issey fragrance has a base mixture of tobacco, white musk and amber.

With top notes of tangerine, blue water lily, yuzu (a citrus fruit), cinnamon, nutmeg and saffron (a spice), this is the perfect blend to smell your best. Don't hesitate to add this to your fragrance collection.

Available at most of the usual spots you'd expect, including Smith and Caughey's - $149 for 125ml

Smell ya later.
